RECOGNITION OF THE CODES ENFORCEMENT OFFICER: Prior to the beginning of the regular Selectmen's Meeting, David recognized Bill Longley for his Meritorious Service to the Town of Woolwich for the past fifteen years as Codes Enforcement Officer.
PUBLIC HEARING ON LIQUOR LICENSE APPLICATION: The Board of Selectmen held a public hearing at 5:45 p.m. to receive comments regarding the application of Cooleen's at Montsweag Farms for renewal of their liquor license. There were not any comments.
APPROVAL OF LIQUOR LICENSE APPLICATION: Motion by Phillip, seconded by Rita, to approve the liquor license application of Cooleen's at Montsweag Farms. The motion passed unanimously.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS'S MINUTES: Motion by Dale, seconded by Rita, to accept the minutes of the meetings of June 6 & 13, 2005 as printed. The motion passed unanimously.
SELECTMEN'S COMMENTS: Phillip spoke of the professional manner of Cole Layer Trumble personnel in conducting the Assessment Hearings with the property owners. Phillip also spoke of the need to do extensive repairs on the Nequasset Park docks. David said that he has asked Todd Stilphen for a proposal to accomplish minor repairs to the Old Town House.
PUBLIC COMMENTS: There were not any public comments.
ROAD COMMISSIONER'S REPORT: Road Commissioner Jack Shaw spoke of MDOT's responsibility to find a solution to the public safety problems on Route 1. Representative Carol Grose said that MDOT will be studying the problem.
FIRE CHIEF'S REPORT: Fire Department representative Shaun Riley reported that there have been 12 runs &endash; 6 fire and 6 EMS since the last Selectmen's Meeting.
OLD BUSINESS:
a. Hay Abatement Discussion: The Selectmen discussed the recent decision of the Sagadahoc County Commissioners to grant an abatement to Harriet Hay. Their consensus was that the abatement was not justified but that an appeal to Superior Court would not be cost effective considering that the abatement would be short lived because of the current revaluation.
NEW BUSINESS
a. Property and Casualty Coverage: Motion by Dale, seconded by Rita, to award the contract for property and casualty insurance coverage for fiscal year 2005-06 to Cross Insurance at a price of $11,809.00. The motion passed unanimously.b. Approval of Accounts Payable Warrants: Motion by Phillip, seconded by Rita, to approve the accounts payable warrants of June 15 & 16, 2005. The motion passed unanimously.
c. Approval of Payroll Warrant: Motion by Phillip, seconded by Rita, to approve the payroll warrant of June 14, 2005. The motion passed unanimously.
d. Robert E. DeWick Recreation Area Activities: Lloyd advised that Brian Conny had requested authorization to sell hot dogs at the Robert E. DeWick Recreation Area. Motion by Dale, seconded by Rita, to authorize Brian Conny to sell hot dogs at the Robert E. DeWick Recreation Area provided that the Maine Department of Transportation did not have any objection to such use of state owned land. The motion passed unanimously.

g. Renewal of the Municipal Officers' Policy on Disbursement of Municipal Education Costs: Motion by Rita, seconded by Phillip, to renew the Municipal Officers' Policy on Disbursement of Municipal Education Costs. The motion passed unanimously.
h. Shellfish Warden Marine Trespassing Responsibilities: Jon Hentz, by memorandum, requested to be relieved of his marine trespassing responsibilities as they were impossible to enforce. Motion by Phillip, seconded by Rita, to relieve the Shellfish Warden of his marine trespassing responsibilities. The motion passed unanimously.
i. National Geomatica Services: By consensus, the Board Of Selectmen decided that the Town of Woolwich was not interested in the services provided by National Geomatica.
CODES ENFORCEMENT OFFICER'S REPORT: Bill Longley, CEO, in his final report, advised that the Planning Board would be considering a new five or six lot subdivision on the Sanders Road. Also, that Phillip Sewall was proposing an additional four lots in his subdivision. Bill also reported on a possible septic system failure in the Day's Ferry area. That system will be inspected by a soil evaluator.
