SELECTMEN'S MEETING MINUTES

Woolwich Town Office - February 14, 2000

6:00 p.m.


ATTENDANCE: Dale Chadbourne, Crispin Connery, David King, Rita Sturtevant and Todd McPhee

PREVIOUS MEETING'S MINUTES: Motion by David, seconded by Rita, to approve the minutes of the January 31, 2000 Selectmen's Meeting as printed. Passed unanimously.

ROAD COMMISSIONER'S REPORT: Due to the snow storm, Jack Shaw was not present as he was tending to the condition of the roads.

FIRE CHIEF'S REPORT: The Chief met earlier in the evening with the Selectmen at a budget workshop and will meet again in a workshop on February 28, 2000. Wayne reported that the department has responded to 28 calls this year.

OLD BUSINESS:

Dangerous Building: Dale reported that the building located at Map R-05, Lot 98, owned by Jason Fickett, had been removed.

NEW BUSINESS:

Solid Waste Contract: The Selectmen agreed to request proposals for curbside pickup of residential refuse and recycling services for the next fiscal year. The proposals will be due on March 13, 2000.

Maintenance of Municipal Building: David and Todd reported that the board and batten covering of the peaks of the municipal building had deteriorated and needed to be replaced. Todd will contact a local building contractor to obtain an estimate to replace the sheathing.

Registrar of Voter Hours: Motion by David, seconded by Rita, to have the Registrar of Voter hours coincide with the Town Clerk's hours for the upcoming Presidential Preference Primary on March 7, 2000. Passed unanimously.

Recreation Committee Appointment: Motion by Todd, seconded by David, to appoint Roger Brawn to the Recreation Committee. Passed unanimously.

CODES ENFORCEMENT OFFICER'S REPORT: Bill Longley reported that the Planning Board would be holding a public hearing on February 28, 2000, concerning a request for a welding business on Overmiller Drive.
